Strawberries & Cream Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1 cup halved fresh strawberries
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 2 scoops Strawberry Ka’Chava
  • 1/4 tsp ground vanilla or vanilla bean paste
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • Cold milk and honey for serving

How to make

  1. Prep the strawberries
  2. Add the sliced strawberries to a pot or shallow pan, along with the sugar and salt
  3. Cook on medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries release their water and begin bubbling
  4. Reduce the heat to low and let the strawberries continue to cook until jammy and syrupy
  5. Remove from the heat and set aside
  6. Prep the oatmeal
  7. Add the oats, Strawberry Ka’Chava, vanilla bean, kosher salt, and milk to a medium-size pot
  8. Heat on medium-high heat until bubbling, then reduce the heat to low and let cook, stirring occasionally
  9. Cook the oatmeal
  10. Once the oatmeal is done, cover the pot with a lid and let the oatmeal sit for anywhere between 5-10 minutes
  11. Then pop the oatmeal into a bowl, spoon over the stewed strawberries, a generous dollop of honey, and a splash of cold milk
  12. Enjoy!
