Can you share your journey to becoming an advocate for health and wellness, and what initially inspired you to start that journey?

I initially began my journey as a way to manage stress in grad school and shed a few pounds, however I quickly realized health and wellness is SO MUCH more than a number on the scale.

How do you stay motivated to live a healthy lifestyle? And how do you hope to motivate others to do the same?

I see a healthy routine and lifestyle as a gift. I am beyond grateful for my ability to be able to move my body as I choose and for my ability to access healthy food. I stay motivated by my gratitude, and I continue to press forward even when I don't feel like it because not everyone has the good fortunate of that option.

 

I hope that if nothing else, they make one positive and personally meaningful change that enables them to live more freely and fully. My hope is that I can be one positive influence that pops up on their feed each day to keep them motivated, to help them overcome, or to let them know they are never alone and they CAN do what they set their mind to.

Yes, I always read labels. I check for ingredients I can't pronounce, ingredients that don't sit well with me, and the GOOD stuff! I want my food full of what makes me feel my best.

Get enough sleep. Move your body everyday. Stay social - keep positive relationships in your life.

How do you implement Ka'Chava into your daily life?

I like it all ways. I love to get creative with baking - breads, muffins, cookies, bars. I also love it in a smoothie! Definitely depends on my mood ;) Pro tip when blending in a smoothie - add riced cauliflower to make your smoothie extra creamy! I LOVE adding it into smoothies (post long run or workout especially!), energy bites, and bars. I also love mixing it into my coffee for a quick and nourishing morning grab-and-go.
